The event included the participation of CGEE's technical advisor, Cesar Augusto Costa, and aimed to promote integration between the intelligence community agencies of the states of Goiás, Bahia, and Minas Gerais.
ABIN held the 1st Interstate Meeting of the Brazilian Intelligence System in Goiânia/GO, on May 28th, with the objective of promoting integration among the intelligence agencies of the states of Goiás, Minas Gerais, and Bahia on the topic of rare earth elements.
On that occasion, CGEE was represented by its technical advisor, Cesar Augusto Costa. Partner entities, both public and private, and research centers related to the strategic minerals sector also participated in the meeting, such as the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB), the National Mining Agency (ANM), and the Mineral Technology Center (Cetem). The event was held in the Auditorium of the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of Goiás (CREA/GO).
Under the theme "Rare Earths: Opportunities and Challenges for Brazil," four debate sessions addressed aspects of geopolitics, mapping and regulation, development of mining projects, and innovation initiatives in production chains.
According to the ABIN superintendent in Goiás, Raimundo Seixas, "it is essential to understand the opportunities offered by the exploration of rare earth elements in Brazil, considering their strategic role in the energy transition and as a driver of technological development in the country, while also considering the socio-environmental impacts on the populations directly affected."
