CGEE and Cepal begin talks for a new cooperation agreement.

The meeting reinforced the historic partnership between the institutions and opened new possibilities for joint action.

The Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE) received, today (07), representatives of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) to begin discussions on a new cooperation agreement between the institutions.

During the visit, the delegation participated in a meeting with the Director of Strategic Projects and International Relations at CGEE, Caetano Penna, who presented the main initiatives developed by the institution, highlighting the observatories, strategic studies, and tools focused on foresight and intelligence for public policies.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Executive Secretary of ECLAC and Director of the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES), Javier Medina. A historical reference in the training of technical personnel and the production of strategic thinking for Latin America, ILPES operates in the areas of research, training and planning for regional development.

ECLAC was also represented by the Program Officer from the office in Brazil, Mayra Juruá, as well as advisors from the office of the Deputy Executive Secretary, Paulina Pizarro and Luis Riffo.

During the meeting, possibilities for cooperation on topics related to future studies, technological foresight, and sustainable development were discussed—areas of common interest between CGEE and ECLAC. The agenda also included an invitation for the Center to present its experience in future studies and foresight at a Latin American training program to be promoted by ECLAC.

The meeting reinforced the trajectory of collaboration between the institutions, which began in 2005, a period in which CGEE and Cepal developed joint projects and maintained dialogue on different fronts focused on the development of Latin America and Brazil.
