During his participation in the 71st National Confap Forum, Anderson Gomes highlighted the Center's role as a technical partner in the development of regional science and innovation programs and strategies.
The CEO of the Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE), Anderson Gomes, participated today (31) in the opening ceremony of the 71st National Forum of the National Council of Research Support Foundations (Confap). Promoted by the council, in partnership with the Research Support Foundation of the State of Roraima (Faperr), the event was held in Boa Vista (RR), starting on March 30 and continuing until April 1.
The opening of the 71st forum marks the celebration of the council's 20th anniversary. The president of Confap, Marcel Botelho, opened the speeches and highlighted the entity's role in articulating the interests of the Research Support Foundations (FAPs) with the principles and regional characteristics of society, especially this new unit in Roraima.
“Not believing in science is simply ignoring all the development that humanity has had. [...] In this 20th-anniversary celebration, which includes a series of activities, I would like to invite you to learn a little more about this council, which brings together the 27 FAPs (Research Support Foundations) of the states and is perhaps one of the best representatives of the diversity of our country. Coming to Roraima, to our newest FAP, is to give each of you, who have come from elsewhere, the chance to learn a little about the culture we have just seen here, and to have ever greater respect for diversity and for everyone's lifestyle,” said Botelho.
During the event, which commemorated the institution's two decades, the first edition of the magazine "Ciência em Rede Confap" was also presented. It showcases success stories from eight FAPs: FAPDF (Federal District), Fapemat (Mato Grosso), Fapema (Maranhão), Fapepi (Piauí), Fapespa (Pará), Faperr (Roraima), Fapes (Espírito Santo), and Fapesc (Santa Catarina).
In his opening remarks, Anderson Gomes highlighted the role of CGEE as the "thinking head" of Brazil's National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SNCTI), acting in strategic intelligence and supporting public policies. To illustrate, he cited recent work by the Center, including the publication of the State Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation of Espírito Santo (PCTI-ES), carried out by the Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation (Octi - CGEE); and the upcoming release of the series "state notebooks of the masters and doctors in the federative units series", from the Observatory of Human Resources for Science, Technology and Innovation (ORHCTI - CGEE).
“CGEE is the body behind, for example, the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation... We recently built, with the support of MCTI, the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation (ENCTI). Confap has a seat on the CGEE Board of Directors, and even chairs the board. Our role is to provide you with material to support calls for proposals, policies and your ideas. I want to say that we are in this together... we share this thinking,” said Gomes.
In addition to the director's participation, CGEE will promote two agendas during the forum's program tomorrow (1st). The Octi - CGEE project leader, Adriana Badaró, will speak at the lecture “From perception to evidence: Strategic Intelligence for the future of CT&I policies”, at 2 pm. Immediately afterwards, at 3 pm, the leader of ORHCTI - CGEE, Sofia Daher, will launch the series “Masters and doctors in the federative units”.
