The Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE) participated in the meeting of the National Forum of Pro-Rectors of Research and Postgraduate Studies (Foprop), held at the headquarters of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), this Thursday (16), in Brasília (DF). On the occasion, the preliminary results of the State Notebooks of the Masters and Doctors in the Units of the Federation series were presented.

The CEO of CGEE, Anderson Gomes, director Connie McManus, and the leader of the Observatory of Human Resources for Science, Technology and Innovation (ORHCTI/CGEE), Sofia Daher, participated in the event's panel discussion, which addressed regional studies developed by the Center on the availability of human resources in science, technology, and innovation in Brazilian states.

During the presentation, Sofia Daher highlighted the preliminary results of the state-level reports, an ORHCTI initiative that addresses two strategic needs: the production of detailed indicators on the qualifications and professional placement of master's and doctoral degree holders at the state level, and innovation in data generation and updating processes, with greater agility in making information available to support decision-making.

In total, 27 standardized reports were produced, covering the states and the Federal District, based on a broad dataset on the academic degrees and formal employment of master's and doctoral degree holders. Production was made possible through the use of the R Markdown tool and automated processes implemented by the observatory, allowing for faster information updates.

The content is still undergoing validation, with the goal of improving reports and production processes. The expectation is to expand dialogue with the states and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), consolidating a continuous base of strategic information and enabling the expansion of the scope of indicators on masters and doctoral degree holders in the states of the Federation.
