The research has been coordinated by the Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE), with supervision from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) since 2015. The latest edition from 2023 presented revealing data on Science, Technology and Innovation in Brazil.
Through a dynamic visual approach, the material reinforces the strategic role of science in building a more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative future. At the same time, it highlights the need to strengthen scientific communication and expand access to information.
Furthermore, the initiative contributes to the debate on the popularization of science to encourage greater connection between researchers, institutions, and the public.
According to the CEO of CGEE, Anderson Gomes, the public perception of science research, which CGEE has been conducting continuously over the years, is one of the most important legacies that the institution has built in its 25 years of operation, celebrated in 2026.
“By consolidating this historical series, we were able to understand how the population perceives science, technology, and public institutions, generating fundamental evidence to support more effective public policies. In a context marked by the widespread dissemination of misinformation, this data is strategic for guiding actions that strengthen informational integrity and increase society's trust in institutions. This work directly contributes to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation being able to improve its instruments and promote policies that are increasingly aligned with the demands and perceptions of the population.”
