The Opportunities Radar - Science, Technology & Innovation for the Amazon is a strategic initiative developed within the scope of the Science, Technology & Innovation Subsidies for the Amazon Project, with the objective of organizing, systematizing, and giving visibility to the main funding opportunities in science, technology, and innovation focused on the Legal Amazon and supporting evidence-based public policies. The project is a demand of the National Council of Secretaries for Science, Technology and Innovation Affairs (Consecti), the National Council of State Foundations for Research Support (Confap), and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), coordinated by the Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE).

The Radar will be published bimonthly and will be part of the Science, Technology & Innovation Platform for the Amazon www.amazonia.cgee.org.br. It was created as a strategic intelligence tool that strengthens access for researchers, scientific institutions, public managers, entrepreneurs, and civil society organizations to public calls for proposals, grant opportunities, and support programs available at the state, federal, and international levels.

“More than just an informative compilation, the Radar plays a structuring role by supporting qualified decision-making, expanding the reach of information, and reducing asymmetries in access to S&T resources in the Amazon region,” says Adriana Badaró, leader of Octi, the S&T Observatory that developed the project.

Its first edition identified eight current calls for proposals, which together mobilize more than R$ 1 billion in resources, covering strategic themes such as bioeconomy, sustainability, technological innovation, social inclusion, and institutional strengthening. The publication highlights funding trends and helps align available opportunities with regional and national priorities for scientific and technological development in the Amazon.

Platform - To stay up-to-date on Science, Technology & Innovation (ST&I) news in the Legal Amazon, those interested can access the ST&I platform for the Amazon. In this virtual environment, it's possible to access state profiles, ST&I indicators, production chains, publications, etc. It's also possible to contribute suggestions, strengthening the collective effort towards sustainable, inclusive, and knowledge-driven development.
