In 2025, the Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE) expanded its public presence and strengthened the dissemination of strategic knowledge for the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SNCTI) through editorial products. Throughout the year, there were more than 20 publications, including thematic series, executive summaries, technical reports and collections, focusing on priority agendas for the country, such as sustainability, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, bioeconomy and popularization of science, as well as topics related to strategic events and processes, such as COP30.
Earlier this year, the final version of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PBIA) was launched. This strategic initiative of the National Council for Science and Technology (CCT) and the federal government, coordinated by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), with technical support from CGEE, aims to position Brazil at the forefront of the development and responsible application of artificial intelligence.
The COP30, held in Belém (PA), was also a space for qualified action by CGEE. On that occasion, the Center launched the 55th edition of the Strategic Partnerships Magazine, dedicated to the theme "Brazilian Scientific Task Force for COP30" . Also in the field of scientific events, at the end of the year the Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Climate and Development in Semi-Arid Regions (ICID 2025) were published.
Another highlight was the launch of the Violet Book - Science, Technology and Innovation for a fair, sustainable and developed Brazil , a collection of contributions from intellectuals, researchers, the private sector and managers of Brazilian science policy during the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation (CNCTI).
In the Amazon region, CGEE launched the "In Perspective" volumes for Acre , Amapá , Amazonas , Maranhão , Mato Grosso , Pará , Rondônia , Roraima , and Tocantins . Volumes 1 , 2 , and 3 of the OCTI in Action: Trends and Innovation collection were also published, as well as new issues of the Scientific Panorama of Digital Technologies, including the topics: Artificial Intelligence , Robotics , Cloud Computing , Big Data , and the Internet of Things .
The publications also consolidated results and presented perspectives to anticipate trends in the field of science, technology, and innovation in Brazil. Highlights include the Strategic Report – Energy Big Push (EBP) 2.0 Project , which presents an overview of green patenting in energy technologies; the Octi Report – Overview of Brazilian Science, Technology & Innovation , which presents national scientific production for 2024; and the Mapping of initiatives at the federal level related to the theme of Nature-based Solutions and hybrid infrastructures in urban environments.
As an example of the Center's regional action, the Octi Thematic Bulletin: Espírito Santo brings together qualified information on installed capacities, scientific production, strategic areas, and collaboration dynamics in the State. Similarly, the fifth edition of the Octi Annual Bulletin continues the observatory's central mission of producing strategic intelligence for the country based on consistent evidence, qualified analyses, and advanced methodologies applied to monitoring, planning, and formulating public policies for Science, Technology, and Innovation (ST&I).
CGEE developed its studies based on data and information, both public and private, as the main inputs for the work conducted. The acquisition, processing, visualization, and dissemination of this data are fundamental to improving the quality of decision-making on strategic issues of national interest in the area of Science, Technology & Innovation.
